The other half of the year, Whistler gets snowed on.

In the colder months of the year Whistler gets snowed on. Sometimes a lot, sometimes not so much. Global warming is pushing to the latter a bit too much for my liking, but we must evolve with what is happening around us.

Each fall, most of us here put our bikes into storage and bring out boards & skis to keep us entertained over the winter months. While there is fundamental differences between winter sports & summer, being able to pick lines, ride strong and have fun are all characteristics that can pass between biking & skiing/snowboarding.

Lots of bikers have been bitten by the skiing bug, Richie was a pro skier before he was known as a biker. Brett Tippie was a boardercross racer, and Whistler's own Jen Ashton is well known for her big mountain riding.

Freeskiing couple Eric Hjorleifson and Jen Ashton have personal styles as unique as Whistler is to Blackcomb. Individually, they're shaped by resolute characteristics and an extraordinary history.
