Hold on tight, we’re back on the World Cup circuit and so is Season 2 of “Just Getting Started.” After an inaugural 2024 season packed with milestone moments, Norco Race Division is rolling fast into 2025.
Watch Episode 1 for more of the same speed, intensity, and comradery that made last season one to remember. With World Cup Round One coming in hot, and after a stacked pre-season, NRD is ready to rumble.
2025 brings a dynamic shift in World Cup racing. The UCI calendar has undergone major restructuring, with semi-finals replaced by a Last Chance Qualifier, and shortened training schedules. Opportunities for more riders opened up as there will be no protected riders this year. In response to the changes, Norco added depth and firepower. The team now fields a larger, multi-national roster with an even split of male and female riders, all riding the latest tech on prototype downhill bikes and racing as one tight unit. Danny Hart, Bodhi Kuhn, Erice van Leuven, and Lina Frener are new to the team this year, while Gracey Hemstreet and Lucas Cruz return, and Greg Minnaar begins his chapter as Team Director.
The team kicked off the season with a training camp in Birmingham, UK, with Team Manager Alan Milway — important time for the team to get to know each other, and for Alan to get to know each athlete personally to develop customized training for them. Gracey Hemstreet and Erice van Leuven then were off to Tasmania, where Gracey continued her momentum with a strong showing winning Hardline once again, as the only woman to race finals. Erice found her footing under extreme conditions, as the only other woman to complete a full top-to-bottom run and make it to finals on the forbidding course. She unfortunately crashed and was not able to race finals due to injury — but is back on her bike and coming back strong after focusing on recovery these last few months.
From there, it was on to Lousa, Portugal — a team camp followed by an unofficial pre-season race with most top 15 trade teams. The team worked hard, focusing on pre-season testing and dialling in suspension, line choice, and race-day systems with the full support of Norco engineers and mechanics. These early hits laid the groundwork for a team-wide push into peak form for the imminent UCI season.
With World Cup Round One in Poland fast approaching, Norco Race Division is fired up and ready to hit the ground running. Watch out for a full team look reveal with new kits, new bikes, and more of the same speed, intensity, and camaraderie that made last season one to remember. Keep your eyes open—this team is just getting started.
