Jake Atkinson Gets Creative in the Streets of Vancouver

With a few extra days to kill in Canada after wrapping up a busy summer of slopestyle comps in 2024, Jake Atkinson and Filmer Ohad Nir hit the streets of Vancouver to see what the city had to offer for street riding.

Known for throwing down big tricks and dialed combos at Crankworx and the FMB World Tour, the 22-year-old from the UK shows in this new edit that he doesn’t need massive booters to go big – just his GT jump bike and some urban playgrounds.

"I used to ride a bit of street back in the day, but never really on the jump bike," Jake says. "I've always loved the vibe of street riding and wanted to film a proper street-style video. I’m stoked on what we got in just a couple of days, and now I’m hyped to plan an even bigger and better one."

Hailing from Kendal in northwest England, Jake picked up street trials at age seven after being inspired by Danny MacAskill’s early videos. By eleven, he was deep into BMX, and by 2020 he had made the jump bike his go-to – at least for now. In his latest edit Vancouver ft. Jake Atkinson, he flows through the city like it’s his personal skatepark, linking up manuals, barspins, 180s, and creative lines with effortless style.

"The manual 180 at the start took the most tries, but the front flip at the end was definitely the most challenging – and the one I’m most proud of."

Jake’s next stop is Crankworx Cairns at the end of May 2025, where he’s aiming to stack enough points for a ticket to Whistler’s Red Bull Joyride. Until then, we’re hoping to catch another street edit – maybe from Canada, maybe Australia, or wherever his wheels take him.
