Eastern Mountain Sports Women’s React 2 in 1 jacket.

On the west coast we don’t have Eastern Mountain Sports stores, so I was interested surprised when I saw the EMS React 2 in 1 jacket, it looked like a comfortable, stylish jacket for wearing on the bike or around town.

Once I got my arms into the sleeves and wearing it on a recent spin through the Zappa trails in the pouring rain it managed to keep me dry without overheating. I liked the length of the jacket; it came to the top of my thigh and it kept out the wind and the rain from any gaping at the back above my shorts. Though for some people they may find this a bit restrictive on the legs. The drawstring in the hem line works well for pulling the jacket up if the length doesn’t suit.

The texture of the jacket is fabulous, it is made from 100% microfiber ripstop and it feels like silk, and you gotta’ love the burnt orange colour. Breathability is another plus with lots of venting in the appropriate areas. Though, more venting under the arms rather then down the sides would have been better suited. The added benefit of removing the arms is fun and practical for those ever changeable weather days, though it does give a rather 80’s look.

Opinion: Love this jacket, makes me look slimmer then I am, so no complaints from me.

Plus: Versatile, light and well designed.
Minus: Venting could be improved.
