Whistler CycloCross race this weekend!

Enduro Racing CycloCross

Part mountain bike race, part cross-country grind, part criterium - cyclo-cross is in a category all it's own, and this unique style of two-wheeled racing is coming to Whistler. Competitors, from beginner to elite, will descend upon Whistler Village September 20-21 for two days of speed, strength, endurance and celebration of this fast-growing discipline for Whistler CycloCross 2014.

 

 

Entry Fee:

Preregistration:

  • 1 race day: $30 elite.  $20 all other categories (includes free entry to mountain cross event)

  • 2 race day: $50 elite.  $35 all other categories

Onsite: 

  • 1 race day: $40 elite.  $30 all other categories (includes free entry to mountain cross event)

  • 2 race days: $60 elite. $45 all other categories

 

Onsite Registration:

Onsite Checkin at Dusty’s Creekside starting at 8am. Onsite registration closes 30 minutes prior to each Category start.


Licensing:

Riders are eligible to race Beginner and Intermediate categories with a Cycling BC citizen license.

Elite (A) riders must hold a UCI race license.

1 day licenses will also be available for $5 youth and $10 adult.

Elite Men (A) - 60 Minutes 
Elite Women (A) - 45 Minutes
Master Men 40+  (A) - 45 Minutes
Intermediate Men (B)  - 45 Minutes
Intermediate Women (B) – 45 Minutes
Singlespeed (B) – 45 Minutes 
Novice Men (C) – 30 Minutes
Novice Women (C) – 30 Minutes
U19, U17, U15, U13 (C) – 30 Minutes
Kids Race and Mountain Cross :  Laps of modified course

Ages for Youth categories (U13 – U19) calculated as of December 31, 2014

Categories with fewer than five (5) starters may be cancelled or merged with another age or ability category at the discretion of the organizers.

 

Lapped Riders:

All lapped riders will finish on the same lap as the first place rider. If there are 45+ in a category, lapped riders will be pulled by the commissaire.

Podium and Awards:

All riders receiving awards are required to be present for the podium, and be in proper podium attire (clean cycling kit). Failure to do so can result in loss of prize or award



Officials:

There will be 3 Cycling BC Commissaires present at Cyclocross Whistler.



Bike Requirements:

There will not be any restrictions in regards to type of bike or tire size for Beginner and Intermediate races.

Elite races will be subject to UCI rules when it comes to bikes and tire size. This is to help prepare our Elite racers for Nationals and other UCI races.



Race Course Etiquette:

Riders are not permitted to ride on courses prior to race day, unless special permission is allowed. Courses may also be subject to modification or cancellation due to heavy rain.
