The region of Saalfelden Leogang is commonly known for it's bike park as well as the host location for many high-class bike events such as last year's UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships, White Style and 26TRIX.

Less well known and yet almost a secret is the fact that the region is one of the largest and most versatile touring bike areas in Austria.

The Bikepark Leogang is in fact one of the hallmarks of the bike region Saalfelden Leogang. This September, the final stop of the UCI Mountain Bike Downhill Cup as well as the Four-Cross World Championships will take place. However, the area is not only a top destination for freeriders and downhillers who want to plunge down steep and relentless root sections. With 720 kilometers of mountain bike trails and again 480 additional valley bike trails, Saalfelden Leogang is one of the largest and most diverse bike regions in Austria. Biking for different difficulty levels ensure any "tourists" the right trip.

In order that the tour with the kids is not too strenuous and the trip with your buddies does not get boring, the appropriate tour should be selected previously. There are a variety of tour suggestions on the brand new bike Channel of Saalfelden Leogang  (http://bike.saalfelden-leogang.com/en/home/) and (http://bike.saalfelden-leogang.com/en/tourenenduro/spezielle-touren/)

For example the "Schwarzleo-Tour", a medium-heavy round with almost 1.200 meters in altitude and several rest stops, that brings pleasure to swing down on the bike:

The own-brand tour takes you through the two valleys of the Schwarzbach and Schwarzleo creek. Another route with a similar profile, which is really fun to ride in both directions: from both sides first is a long climb up to the respective head of the valley. Then its ups and downs, and it always offers a different panorama. If the power fades, there are also ways to change the route and go a different one into the valley.

Or even better, create your own custom-made and individual tour. How this works? The answer is pretty simple: with the digital and interactive bike map:

It is amazingly easy to use, by putting in the relevant filter, the route planner gives you an optimum tour proposal: You can select between tour difficulty levels, altitude meters or thematic tours. It is also possible to have a look at the satellite map to get an idea of the entire conditions of your next bike tour!

Those looking for more challenge, you can try out the new Technical Park Saalfelden, which was particularly designed to help and improve your riding skills. But beware, it's not for the faint hearted! From now on, everyone can follow for free in the footsteps of the cross-country professionals in the district of Bürgerau since the Technical Park Saalfelden consists of the technically challenging forest of the former cross-country track of the World Championships 2012. Even pro riders like Manuel Fumic, Jaroslav Kulhavy and Sabine Spitz had to conquer the obstacles of wood and stone. On a non-competitive level, however, the course offers an excellent opportunity to practice skills, balance and cornering techniques.
