The first two FMB wildcards of the season have been awarded to Ryan Nyquist and Diego Caverzasi. Due to the fact that they were the best placed athletes at the FMB Gold Events Swatch Rocket Air and FISE Montpellier, who have not yet qualified for the Diamond Series stop at Crankworx Les Gets, both riders will be competing at the FMB Diamond Event in France on June 18th.

Diego Caverzasi surprised everyone in Thun, when he sent a huge run, scoring 94.00 points and achieving his best ever result on the FMB World Tour. "The winter flew by really quickly and I only had a few days of riding because Monza Pizza Bikepark was being maintained. What really motivated me, was seeing Torquato ride in the finals in Rotorua", Caverzasi explains. "Seeing this, I said to myself 'I can do this. I love MTB and have been doing it for 14 years now. I can be better' so I trained really hard for Thun." The third place at Swatch Rocket Air already secured him a wildcard for Swatch Prime Line from the event organizers and with FISE Montpellier in the books, the FMB can also confirm awarding the young Italian the first of two FMB wildcards for the Diamond Series Event at Crankworx Les Gets. "I'm stoked and never expected to be that good. The hard work paid off."

Hard work has also paid off for BMX legend Ryan Nyquist. The 37 year old has been red hot this season so far. After gathering his first experiences on the FMB World Tour last season, his level of riding has just exploded. Following an impressive sixth place in Thun at Swatch Rocket Air, Nyquist sent the second best run last week at FISE Montpellier and he also achieved his best ever FMB World Tour result. He will also be travelling to the FMB Diamond Series Event at Crankworx Les Gets.
