ABUS makes a full face.

ABUS is excited to announce its first-ever full-face helmet. The AirDrop is the new flagship helmet of ABUS’ mountain bike line and is the result of several years of R&D with the direct support and regular input of team riders Cedric Gracia, Richie Schley, and Gabriel Wibmer.

Laps in the bike park, racing enduro events, or shuttling your favorite technical downhill runs: when it comes to speed and airtime on the mountain bike, a full-face helmet becomes a needed accessory. The AirDrop offers complete protection for the gnarliest of trails and is packed full of features to improve the riding experience.

The fit is one of the most important criteria when choosing a helmet: and thanks to the Zoom-Ace adjustment system, the fit can be precisely dialed in. ​ The AirDrop also includes a fully integrated MIPS system for an added level of protection. The cheek pads are removable, washable, and comes in two thicknesses for a truly individual fit. The height-adjustable visor comes with a break-away mechanism in the event of a crash, and the open design on the front provides an excellent field of vision and is compatible with a wide variety of goggles, The visor also includes an action-cam mount. The padded layers integrated into the underside of the helmet’s face guard, aptly named Collarbone Protection, protect the collarbone in the event of a crash.

ABUS takes the tried and tested in-mold production and ups the strength with our integrated ActiCage system, a structural cage integrated into the EPS. ​ The ActiCage does more than improve strength, it also allows for larger vent openings. A total of eleven air inlets on the front and six outlets on the back maximize air circulation so that the helmet can also be worn easily when riding uphill. And large opening at the ear, we call Ambient Sound Channel, means you always stay aware of your surroundings and can communicate with riding buddies.

The AirDrop is also QUIN-ready, so it can easily be upgraded with our QUIN crash detection system. ​ The chip is attached to the helmet at an integrated port at the rear of the helmet. ​

Downhill and freeride veteran Cedric Gracia has played a big role in the design and development of the ABUS AirDrop and is stoked with the result: “I am so happy about this project.
