Moseley & Lupato take the podium in Canazei.

The 2016 edition of the Superenduro Powered by SRAM Series has just wrapped up its third round here in Canazei. The round was valid as an Enduro World Series Qualifier Event and it offered a spectacular race, fiercely fought and full of unexpected changes, with almost 400 riders taking part to the Special Stages and dropping from the foot of the dolomite massifs down to town.

In the men's, Alex Lupato is back on the top spot after a long absence, gathering ranking points that reach the 1200 score and place him in second position. Matteo Raimondi takes second and gets his best Superenduro result until now, while Marco Milivinti is third and jumps in the lead of the Series with 1220 points.

At the finish line Alex Lupato declares “Making the right decisions in a race so conditioned by weather is really hard, but still not as difficult as riding without making mistakes. I pushed hard at the right time and I now bring home the result; I am glad to be back on the top spot”.

Vittorio Gambirasio due to a problem in PS1 ends up 16th and looses the first position in the general ranking and he is currently third with 1150 points.
In the women's, a busy category at this third round also thanks to the partner event WOW, Tracy Moseley dominates the whole race and wins every Stage, followed by Louise Paulin in second and Sara de Leo in third. With Laura Rossin out of the game, due to a shoulder injury, they are the ones that get respectively the first and second position in the championship.

“It has been quite epic. Storms, sunshine, technical trails, a downtown stage and much more. I would say it has been a good Superenduro round” Tracy Moseley comments at the end of the race.
In the E-Mtb category the fastest rider is again Giorgio Righi, while Morgan Lusa is second and Ivan Vian third.

The rain that poured down during the first hours of the day had made the Stages really challenging with mud and with roots and rocks becoming extremely slippery. “It has been a while since the last time we have seen so many flat pedals around” Enrico Guala comments at the start line “They are almost a must when you need to be able to use your feet so often to get back some balance”.

Luckily the bad weather has quickly cleared up. The result has been that of a race split into two halves: a first part wet and a second one much drier. Not the easiest situation to handle, and to make the best choices, for riders as much as for organizers. Despite this, the crew of Fassa Bike responded quickly and showed guts and character, taking the decision to cancel PS3, since it would have been ridden during the storm, and so ensuring the riders' safety.

The games are open again thanks to the Canazei's round, at least for what concerns the overall ranking of the Series, with even greater expectation for the important final event - the last weekend of July - at Santa Caterina Valfurva, in Alta Valtellina.
