Rogatkin wins Swatch Prime Line.

1989

The FMB Diamond Event at Swatch Prime Line was a full success. After scorching weather conditons and blasting sun on Friday during qualification, the weather kept everyone on their toes the following days.

After waiting for the wind to die down this afternoon, the 15 finalists put on a huge show, which saw Nicholi Rogatkin celebrate his first ever Diamond Series victory with 20,000 spectators in the Olympic Park in Munich. The trick-machine from Lincoln, USA scored 93.00 in his first run with the following trick elements: Foot plant 360, tail whip, tuck no hander, triple tail whip, double tail whip, back flip, cash roll, front flip, double tail whip, cork 720. “I am feeling incredible. We waited for the wind for ages, but these people wanted to put on the show and we did. I am stoked, that I could pull off my run and come out on top. We love the people here. They give us so much support.” The podium was completed by Max Fredriksson and Logan Peat.

Swatch Prime Line was also a huge success for the two FMB Wildcard winners Emil Johansson (SWE) and Nico Scholze (GER). Both sent sick second runs. Emil was ranked fifth and Nico not only sent a huge tsunami-backflip to come in sixth, but also won the Swatch Fan Award.
