The Outdoor Research Speed & Style competition captivated audiences with its unique blend of speed and flair

Combining elements of Dual Slalom and Slopestyle. Riders raced head-to-head down a 260-meter course featuring 2 trick jumps, 2 berms, and 9 rolls, with the challenge to not only be the fastest but also the most stylish. This thrilling event drew some of the world’s best Slopestyle athletes, slalom racers, and Crankworx all-stars, delivering a spectacular display of athleticism and creativity.

In the men’s competition, Mark Ducat missed a few gates going up against Jackson Frew, who showcased his incredible speed scoring all top 5 fastest runs of the day. Garret Mechem appeared to have a speed advantage by shifting gears at the last two gates, but it was David Lieb who ultimately took the gold after delivering top scores throughout the day. Lieb, who has been training and racing with Mechem for six years, beat him in the gold medal matchup. The podium was rounded out by Jackson Frew, who secured third place. The men’s competition was marked by intense rivalries and impressive performances, with riders navigating the loose track with precision and style.

On the women’s side, Caroline Buchanan secured first place, while Jordy Scott, despite overshooting a 360 in the gold medal matchup, took second place. Kaia Jensen completed the podium in third. The event was a testament to the women’s incredible skill and determination, as they executed stylish tricks while maintaining high speeds. Caroline Buchanan will also join the announcers’ booth for Red Bull Joyride tomorrow, adding her expertise to the commentary team. The competition highlighted the versatility and prowess of these top female riders in a format that demands both speed and style.
