Saalfelden Leogang in Salzburger Land, Austria, April 14th 2014 – With the mountain bike season upon us, the biggest players on the downhill scene are gearing up for the UCI Mountain Bike Downhill World Cup at the Out of Bounds Festival in the idyllic village of Leogang in Austria's Salzburger Land. Once a year, the fastest riders rip up the rough and tough downhill track at Bikepark Leogang. Alongside the UCI Mountain Bike Downhill World Cup action, the top FMB World Tour athletes will be dropping in for another edition of the awesome 26TRIX contest, an official Gold event on the FMB World Tour calendar.

To top things off, the fastest Four-cross racers will determine who takes home the UCI Four-cross World Championship jersey on Leogang's challenging track. For the first time, all three events will be held on the same weekend: June 12th – 15th 2014.

Whether you prefer to put your head down and attack a rooty, rocky track, get your kick out of competing rider against rider or catch the flow on a dirt jump course, the Out of Bounds Festival has all the action you could possibly desire! Not to mention the UCI Mountain Bike Downhill World Cup, UCI Four-cross World Championships and FMB World Tour rider line ups – it doesn't get more extreme than this! The action starts with the FMB World Tour gold event, 26TRIX on Friday June 13th where the top riders will battle it out for a spot in the finals on Saturday June 14th. On the exact same days, the Four-cross elite takes it to the gnarly track to battle who is going to wear the desirable rainbow jersey. Likewise, a mere 50m from the dirt jump and Four-cross action, the downhill elite will be sending it down Leogang's fast downhill track in order to earn a place in the UCI Downhill World Cup finals on Sunday June 15th.

Bikepark Leogang has already earned its stripes as a prime location for thrilling downhill races on the UCI Downhill World Cup calendar. It played host to the World Championships in 2012 and provided the perfect stage for the nerve-racking showdown at the World Cup finals last year, when Stevie Smith snatched the overall title from Gee Atherton. A day that has been edged into the minds of all downhill fans as images from the Leogang racetrack were broadcasted live around the world! Expect nothing less in 2014: once again the athletes will return to conquer the technical passages and fly over the high speed gaps before coming to a rubber burning stop in the finish area.

When it comes to head-to-head races, then 4X is where the action is! Leogang has already proven the potential of this exhilarating discipline during the previous World Championships in 2012 and 2013. This year, racers will return to the gnarly Leogang track and go elbow-to-elbow mid air over the massive jumps and swap paint while ripping up the steep berms before the last big push to cross the line. This simple race format means that everyone can enjoy the action and cheer on the athletes as they roll out the gate. From start to finish, riders will show no mercy on Leogang's Four-cross track.

Shaped on to the side of the Asitz mountain is the fast but technical 26TRIX course. Featuring big air booters, step downs and huge berms, the course has all the ingredients needed for the freeride pros to perform their awesome whips, flips and rotations several meters above the ground. The caliber of riders attending this FMB World Tour Gold event is as good as it gets and athletes will have to dig deep to pull out their best tricks in order to make it on to the podium. Riders like the reigning FMB World Tour Champion Sam Pilgrim, the Swedish giant Martin Soderstrom and Canadian trick machine Brett Rheeder have all left their mark in the past. 26TRIX also offers a chance for aspiring riders to compete at the highest level – young guns can send their application with a short video clip and a rider profile to This email address is being protected from spambots. Exciting side events will round off the most versatile Out of Bounds Festival ever. Besides the large expo area with all the fresh gear and must-have bike gadgets, spectators can sneak a peek into the paddocks of the downhill pros. When all the action is over, the night crawlers can head over to the after party hosted by the Oe3 DJs, Darius and Finlay.
