Fourth place for Canadian Max Plaxton adds to another great result for the Italian company

New Zealand's youngster Anton Cooper conquered the gold medal in the Men Cross Country race at the 20th Commonwealth Games, in Glasgow, Scotland, on Tuesday July 29th.

19-year-old Cooper came out on top of an entertaining race with several twists of position, showing upfront all the way from lap 1 and making his decisive solo attack on the last uphill drag to celebrate one of the best wins in his career with his Extreme Tech Plus, Northwave's top-range MTB shoes.

New Zealand's Samuel Gaze and Australian Daniel McConnell rounded out the podium, while a gutty and attacking race saw another Northwave athlete, Canadian Max Plaxton, settle for fourth, just 23 seconds off Cooper and 13 seconds away of the bronze medal, after leading the race with 3 laps to go.

"I don't really know what to think - I'm just stoked," Cooper said afterwards. "I felt like I'd have a better kick than McConnell, I was more worried about Sam Gaze over those last few hundred metres. You forget about the pain then. You run off adrenaline and just go for it." Bravo Anton!
