Starting at the Concha beach in Oropesa del Mar , this 3rd stage of the Mediterranean Epic 2022 was presented as the queen stage of the race due to its distance, 93 km with almost 1,700 meters of positive elevation gain.

Lukas Baum took the victory and second place went to Georg Egger, who became the new overall leader. Wout Alleman completed the podium of the day, although he had to give up the leader's jersey and 2 minutes in the overall classification. Hans Becking remains in third place, but only 16 seconds ahead of Stiebjahn.

In the female category, Natalia Fischer (BH Templo Cafés UCC) has put on quite an exhibition. Despite being a long-distance day, he stood out from the first climb. With Janina Wust at her wheel at the beginning and totally alone afterwards. His risky bet paid off and he won the stage with an advantage of more than 8 minutes over Evie Richards (Trek Factory Racing) and more than 12 minutes over Janina Wust. It has not been the day of Ramona Forchini, leader at the start, who has seen how a mechanical leaves her out of the fight for the general.
