Mediterranean Epic 2022: Stage 2.
The Mediterranean Epic 2022 has moved to Castellón to live its most intense stage.
A route that was practically all on singletrack, with continuous ups and downs, has been the scene of an impressive battle between the best XCM bikers on the planet.
Wout Alleman attacked on the final part of the ascent to gain a small lead before the descent. Hans Becking stood close to him, while Gregor Egger couldn't keep up with him. The leadership was at stake. Wout Alleman took risks and managed to maintain, and even widen, his distance from Hans Becking on the descent to enter the finish line as the winner of the day and the new leader in the overall. Simon Stiebjahn completed the podium.
In the female category the European champion Natalia Fischer entered the finish line as the fair winner of the day and now only 20 seconds separate her from the lead. Evie Richards made a great stage finish to climb to third position.
