Mediterranean Epic 2022 - Stage 1

Andreas Seewald, current XCM world champion and holder of number 1, had a very intelligent time trial, dosing himself in the first half to give everything in the final stretch and reduce a disadvantage that became too much.

20 seconds at some points. Seewald would end up taking an impressive victory in a stage that, on paper, must have been difficult for him. Not only did he win, he did so with an advantage of 24 seconds over Gregor Egger (GER) and 26 over Lukas Baum (GER).

In the female category Ramona Forchini, defending champion dominating the time trial with a spectacular time of 53:15. The Swiss takes the first leader's jersey and is once again the total reference of the race in 2022. After her, the Spanish Natalia Fischer showed why she is the current European champion of the modality. She took advantage of her climbing skills to finish second, with Switzerland's Janina Wust completing the podium.
