Kabush wins Canadian Cyclocross Champs.

1591

SCOTT athlete Geoff Kabush of SCOTT-3Rox Racing successfully defended his Canadian National Cyclocross Championship title over the weekend, his fifth such career win.

The veteran racer again showed his strength and versatility by riding clean on a wet, muddy day in Surrey, British Columbia.

While Kabush is perhaps better known as a cross country racer, the 2013 season has also seen him compete in a number of enduros and Cross Vegas where he earned a podium spot next to World Champion Sven Nys.

Kabush's result was not the only one of note for the SCOTT-3Rox squad though. Teammates Cameron Jette and Derek Zandstra looked to be on their way to sweeping the podium for the team, but in the end came up just short. The young Jette set a personal best at the men's elite level by earning his first ever podium performance in third, and Canadian National Cross Country Champion, Zandstra, who doesn't toe the line in many CX races, came in a strong fourth position all the same. The team also earned a medal in the U23 race, in which Marc-Antoine Nadon raced to silver.
