European eMTB Enduro Tour #2 - Castino (Italy) - Race Report

What a weekend it was in Castino, Italy — not just a race, but a true celebration of community, sport, and shared adventure.

The second round of the European eMTB Enduro Tour delivered everything we love about this series: competition, camaraderie, unforgettable trails, and the kind of hospitality you only find in small mountain villages where the race becomes everyone’s event.

Nestled in the heart of Alta Langa, Castino welcomed riders, families, and teams with open arms. The village transformed into a buzzing hub of bikes, campers, laughter, and new friendships. 

Local volunteers from Bike Park Alta Langa, alongside the passionate All-Enduro crew, created an event atmosphere that felt like a warm embrace — and it wasn’t long before riders and locals were sharing stories, antipasti, and post-ride drinks well into the evening.

The racing itself was fierce. Across 2 days of racing, 10 technical & fast special stages, sometimes with demanding clims in true e-MTB style, plus a tough Power Stage, athletes gave it their all on the sun-drenched trails of Castino. 

Italy’s Andrea Garibbo and Britain’s Tracy Moseley emerged victorious in the men’s and women’s fields, clocking times of 45’09” and 51’32” respectively, both extending their leads in the overall standings after two rounds.

But what truly set this weekend apart wasn’t just the tight racing — it was the spirit off the trails. 

From the youngest locals zipping around the square on bikes, to families sharing food and stories in the shade of Castino’s narrow streets, this event reminded us why we race. 

It’s about people, places, and the simple magic of a bicycle bringing strangers together.

As Tracy Moseley said, “By the end, it was more than just a bike race, a whole town invested in the race.”

We now look ahead to the third round in Peisey-Vallandry, Savoie, on July 12–13. 

If Castino taught us anything, it’s that this tour is about more than podiums — it’s about the people and places along the way.
