The teams of two riders tackle 707 untamed kilometers and 15.900 meters of climbing through the picturesque Western Cape of South Africa.

The race started in Meerendal Wine Estate and will end with the Grande Finale in Stellenbosch on March 22 nd. Today’s prologue time trial (20km distance / 650m climbing) was short in length in a heat of up to 35 degrees in view of the world-famous Table Mountain and Lion’s head mountain top. The all-South African team of Matthew Beers (Cape Epic winner in 2021, 2023 and 2024) & Tristan Nortje won the prologue in a close finish against the set time of last year’s prologue winners and overall runners-up Luca Braidot and Simone Avondetto from Italy. In the women’s, local hero Candice Lill and Cape Epic debutant Alessandra Keller from Switzerland dominated from start to finish, securing the win with 56 seconds ahead of Marathon World Champion Kate Courtney (USA) and Greita Seiwald (ITA).
