The 2nd edition of the Crankworx Les 2 Alpes mountain bike freeride festival finished on a high note with a spectacular win from Brandon Semenuk (Trek) in the Slopestyle finals. Fresh off a Silver medal at the X-Games in Munich, Semenuk had all eyes on him as the winner of last years event. Drama ensued when early in his first run Brandon crashed upon landing on a wooden feature; with his competitors laying down solid runs he was left with only one chance in his second and final run.

Riding on his dual-suspension slopestyle bikes equipped with a RockShox Argyle fork and Monarch RT3 shock, Semenuk put down a series of jaw-dropping tricks finishing off with a backflip 720, a trick that has barely been seen before in competition. Completing the podium in 3rd and 4th places were sweden's Martin Soderstrom (Specialized) with local hero and course builder Yannick Granieri (Polygon), whose impressive runs had definitely put them in contention for the win.

Semenuk's victory ended a successful week for SRAM athletes at Crankworx Les 2 Alpes, which saw Yannick Granieri (Polygon) taking the win in Friday's best trick competition with a backflip double tailwhip.

In Thursday's Speed and Style competition, an event combining a dual slalom race with a time bonus awarded for the best tricks on the jumps, Martin Soderstrom edged out all his rivals in the direct elimination format taking a well deserved win.
