Apparently, dry courses favour Aussies.

The drier, the better. This seems to be the mantra of Australian downhill racers Troy Brosnan (AUS) and Tracey Hannah (AUS). They each took the wins in their respective elite fields at today’s Crankworx-closing Canadian Open Downhill presented by iXS, while also each besting their times from last year.

Nicholi Rogatkin (USA) stomped his way into the mountain bike history books in front of a crowd of over 35,000 fans at Crankworx Whistler today. His win at Red Bull Joyride marks his third this season. And with that, he becomes the first rider ever to claim the Triple Crown of Slopestyle.

For many, it was the race to end the season - the race the season’s battles had been building toward. But for Caroline Buchanan (AUS), returning to the event she won a year ago was also her return to competition. Tonight’s RockShox Ultimate Pump Track Challenge at Crankworx Whistler was her first race of the season.

“I think I should win today, it would be a good birthday present.” These were the fighting words now 19-year-old Whistler local Finn Iles (CAN) told himself before dropping in to today’s Fox Air Downhill at Crankworx Whistler.

It was a hot Stage 5 and we're still alive! The Planet Foods/Honey Stinger sponsor day was the perfect fit for the stage as it was a stinger and we needed a lot of gels. Flat tires, cow dogging, rattlesnakes and a grizzly?

I've done a enough of these multi day stage races now to know that Day 3 hurts. You go hard the first 2 days and your body gets mad at you and then you try and go hard on day 3 and your body doesn't want you to. Thankfully this years day 3 took us into a super long descent after a quick dry heaving climb at 7500 feet in the alpine.

Well, that was fun! A shorter day with an amazing climb and an insane rip down an old DH track, mountain biking, that's what is happening at Singletrack 6 right now.

Day 1 started off at 8 AM sharp with a cool temperature and a hot field of racers. The RCMP police escort lead out came to a quick halt as the morning train crossed the main road ahead of the field en route to the ski hill road climb.

For the 2nd time in his career, Neko Mulally will be wearing the US National Flag on his left sleeve as the reigning US National Champion, a title he collected yesterday at the Snowshoe resort in West Virginia. With reigning National Champion and team-mate Arron Gwin out with his thumb injury, Neko was determined to keep the title in the YT Mob family, and set the tone early with a strong qualifying run in slippery conditions.

Morning temps for the burly 56 km final stage of BC Bike Race in Squamish were expected to be in the mid 20s soaring to the low 30s in the afternoon. Some of BCBR's 90 Mexican participants might consider it a chilly spring day. On the coast we call it hot. Perennially a people's choice favorite, the Squamish course was about to serve up a veritable smorgasbord of sumptuous singletrack.

Specialized’s Hannah Barnes has ridden in stage races from the Andes to southern France. Some are simply a series of soul crushing climbs followed by equally soul crushing gravel road descents. Lumps of coal when you were expecting diamonds. Not the BC Bike Race. Yes the climbs are tough, but at the top of each ascent lies a diamond - a tasty ribbon of singletrack to sink the knobby tires into.
