One look at the Giro website and you can see that they have had their hands full designing shoes for cyclists. With over 20 models just in road shoes, it seems that Giro has been busy building up the line over the last few years.

Earlier in the season we got our hands on a pair of the Giro Chamber clip-less shoe, designed in part with two time world champ - Aaron Gwin.

Falling into the skate shoe style category, the fit is comfortable with a snug fit around the heel of the shoe, while the toe box is more squared off and feels roomy. While I have a wider foot and usually have to buy accordingly, the Chamber felt a tad larger than it was shown. IE. I usually buy 10.5, but alias the Giro lines come in European sizing, so a 10.5 falls right between a 44 & 44.5. So 44 it would be next time.

The outer is made from a non stretching microfibre that is easy to clean and has taken a season of puddles and muck in stride. A Velcro strap at the top holds your laces down and give a good secure feeling to the shoe.

Internally the Chamber has a bootie to keep your foot in place and keep the muck out, the outer sole is made from a dual-density rubber called Vibram® with a molded SPD shank and a single density footbed liner.

The Chamber has held up very well under consistent use.  In the past with other clipless shoe models I tend to pull the sole appart around the cleat, or stitching blows out. Other than average wear and tear issues, the Chambers are in great shape, and I can''t see why I won''t be able to squeak out at least another 100 rides in them.
